Detached single-family homes make up 98.5% of Hillsborough's housing, and the half-acre minimum lot dates to 1953. Big houses mean more wall, more trim and more days of prep, so the job gets planned one side at a time: wash, scrape, repair, caulk and prime a side, paint it, then move on.

Construction work and deliveries are allowed 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, with no noise-producing work on Sundays or Town holidays.
