Painting stucco under Dublin's hot sun
The nearest NOAA station, in Livermore about 5.7 miles east, averages a summer high of 87.2F and 57.1 days a year at 90F or more. Sun like that fades paint and makes a fresh coat dry too fast on a hot wall, so summer jobs start early and follow the shade.
Only 19.4% of Dublin's 25,157 housing units predate 1980, but the early 1960s Volk-McLain neighborhoods do, and federal lead rules apply to paid scraping and sanding on homes built before 1978. Most of the city went up later, with the 2010s alone adding 30.6% of units; on newer stucco the work is mostly washing, filling hairline cracks and two fresh coats.

What customers say
Copied word for word from Thumbtack, typos included.
I hired Junior and his team to install Govee Pro outdoor lights with tracks along my roofline, which has a lot of tricky angles and turns. They did an incredible job — everything looks clean, professional, and aligned. Junior showed up on time, worked efficiently, and even helped with a few extra repairs around the house. I’m thrilled with the results and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him for any home improvement or maintenance work.
J&J and Junior and crew provides great Handyman services and support especially for seniors that need a little excellent home maintenance for a reasonable price. Junior and crew repaired and caulked my upstairs shower pan to its shower wall and helped mme clean up my roof deck by cleaning up leafe debris. They were prompt and knowledgeable and honest about their estimates to complete the maintenance. Highly recommended for repair and fixing those tough maintenance jobs you don’t have the time or expertise to finish.

Value for money and flexible to work with. Would definitely hire them again, for all jobs around the house.
Exterior paint in Dublin: questions
Do you work in Dublin?
Yes. Dublin is about 35 road miles from our base in San Bruno, roughly 49 minutes without traffic. We work all over town, from San Ramon Village to Schaefer Ranch.
Who issues permits in Dublin?
The City of Dublin Community Development Department, Building and Safety Division. Repairs and like-for-like replacements often don't need a permit; layout changes, new plumbing or new electrical usually do. When one is needed, the job is contracted through our licensed partner Bay Builder Inc.
When can noisy work happen in Dublin?
As a condition of every Dublin building permit, construction is prohibited between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. and on Sundays and holidays. We schedule noisy work inside those hours.
Do you prep the outside before painting?
Always. Washing, scraping loose paint, fixing cracks and soft trim, caulking and priming bare spots come before the first coat, and they're in the estimate.
