Volk-McLain's San Ramon Village went up in the late 1950s and early 1960s, sold as 'City close, country quiet,' with shopping centers, fire stations and schools planned for 10,750 homes in Dublin and San Ramon. In a bathroom from that era that has never been redone, the question is whether the tile is still tight. Do you work in Dublin?

Yes. Dublin is about 35 road miles from our base in San Bruno, roughly 49 minutes without traffic. We work all over town, from San Ramon Village to Schaefer Ranch.

Who issues permits in Dublin?

The City of Dublin Community Development Department, Building and Safety Division. Repairs and like-for-like replacements often don't need a permit; layout changes, new plumbing or new electrical usually do. When one is needed, the job is contracted through our licensed partner Bay Builder Inc.

When can noisy work happen in Dublin?

As a condition of every Dublin building permit, construction is prohibited between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. and on Sundays and holidays. We schedule noisy work inside those hours.

Can you replace just one cracked tile?
